The writer is American but the genre and his bibliography does have a way with titles which repel rather than attract.

It seems like an appropriate book for that scene ;)

If people have money: The faggiest Vampire is one I recommend (and hope/know it won't ever make a dutch translation) for children, at one point.

EDIT: I mean you need a hard copy, pictures are inclusive and make it all more the better.

Great entry point for Bizarro literature :)

I'm more than okay with math unless it comes to Chance or advanced calculus, linear algebra really depends on subject and how I can relate to it.

But an older lady started talking with our group at the bar and someone said something about exams (for her plumber job) and then the lady went off on a story about her niece having failed a math test for the ehmm school to become 'a teacher for children from 4-12' like pre-highschool. And if she fails again (or maybe one last chance after that, not sure, I do think you get like 3 chances) she would be expelled, so I offered my help. At first she was reluctant but when she heard my price she would put in a word and so I got a call.

Oeh 'Taoist themes' that alone sounds good enough. It's been awhile since I read any fantasy (though it's debatable if ancient myths aren't).

When is it due to be read? Usually it's a month right (not saying you should adhere to my 'hearsay' standards.)? But judging from the wikipedia page it can be quicker for this one I estimate.

I have never joined a bookclub, mostly because of the book choices (I really dislike Dutch 'Literature') or I couldn't make the place/time for the actual meeting and online it's mostly again the book choices being questionable.

I recently (beginning of July IIRC) saw the Extended cut (which I enjoyed a lot) and I dread that this would be just another CGI extravaganza instead of being something good/better let alone that it would add something except for another entry in the 'rehash money-grab list' of shame.

Doom Patrol | Extended Trailer by Mnemonic in DCComics

Just glance over the actors and you will be surprised at least once (unless you already knew).

Apart from that, it's weird in a good way, at least (IIRC) at least once every episode a feely moment and did I mention it was weird but not in a bad way? I had to say that again, because I can't elaborate without spoiling AND without subverting expectations: It sounds weird explained but when seen executed it makes all perfect sense.

The villain is probably of most interest to writers, but every member of the patrol has a story that is explored before it all comes together. Season 2 is announced BUT Season 1 doesn't end with a cliff hanger (which is nice).

Ehm Yeah, not really a super hero thing... just a people with strange powers thing with problems of their own and an overarching problem. 'failed X-men' or the 'X-men rejects' is what the patrol is, a bit, well they are but, also much more.

Very enjoyable, liked it better than The Boys: Good Character deepness (everyone gets a story) and the overall story is weird and therefor very enjoyable (Also the acting and cinematography is nice for what it wants to portray, cool when cool, mundane when mundane and every shade of weirdness in between as in the camera goes with them through all the places they go.

EDIT: the trailer doesn't really catch the vibe, the music is too 'marvel movie'-ish.

I like the Idea of the blockchain, but BC (and alts) has become a pump and dump scheme that ruins the marketplace-tool it was supposed to be. The fact that I could be very wealthy because in 2009-2010 I wanted to buy graphics card for a couple of hundred BC (which was including shipping cheaper than anything I could find) and almost had bought 500 BC and would have +- 200 left after the purchase, then I got sick (heavy flu, 3 months barely awake and all the jazz) and didn't care anymore and found the same card later for a decent price in a normal PC store... makes me feel it's not really a good thing.

I mean, I would worry too about China and other BC-farms pumping the prices up just to collapse western startups as a joke. ATM it's mainly weed-money from America (because federal-banks can get punished by states for taking in drug money right?).

So certainly as a 'main' source of income or even heavy investment wouldn't be my choice... I don't like gambling and it's like that, like the stock market has become something else than 'hey I want to invest in your good/cool idea' so has (already or will) BC fallen into it IMHO.

I'm more of a Buddhist monk in regard to the whole money system including BC, because BC is related/connected to the normal currency systems instead of being just a Computer Power exchange and therefor is nowadays wasting energy and processing power instead of spreading it more equal to those in need, aka I rent out my processor and get BC and thereby can 'rent' another processor if I have a lot of processing to do. It still does that and Ethreum and other alts also have developed more advanced platforms for it.

No judgement though :) just detachment. Like I don't do the brand name Social-Media either, I'm not against interaction just against what the platforms are used for/have become.

Thank you for that and I'm already doing that :)

It's 1500 for groceries, necessary and non-necessary things, insurance isn't basically a thing I pay from that. And I don't add all the food and free shelter I get into moneys worth.

Luckily the minimum wage for a 40hour workweek a month is around 1500 so an increase would be easy to achieve :D Or unemployment checks are like 400-700 a month if I ever sign up for that.

So I got that all going ^ ^

There is https://saidit.net/s/femaleautism/ ;)

And from what I understand is that in America (I guess :p) it's a lot of money to cough up for the diagnostic: I've had 4, 3+ hour sessions of tests and interviews and am scheduled for at least 2 more. Before that I needed to get referred to it by a psychologist and a psychiatrist (both easily 2 hour sessions) and some doctor visits to wrap it all up. But for me it's all covered by insurance (And I easily had the time free myself for this all).

I tried to get the points/credits over to a community college but that would only be good (even tough I had more than enough and more advanced stuff passed than all they offered) to skip over a few classes each year amounting to still 3 years needed to get a paper (same basically as doing my bachelor from scratch on the university).

Pretty sure that 4 years later it hasn't changed because the schools thrive on tuition. I did get all my (old) points printed out in an official document etc and that's something, just not a bachelor degree.

I'm not sure if I want/need a reframe on my thinking about money: I treat it well but it's not on my mind (Sure I did have a good laugh when I today found out I hid a 50 euro away from the bar in my coin-satchet meaning I spend a lot less and that others chipped in to pay the tab we made as group together). I want a job to do something useful for people and I have my skills that can help, the money is handy for getting my own place.

Maybe it's easier to reflect on what your "new beliefs around money and abundance" are so we establish the same ehmm 'zone' about what exactly we are talking about :p

It is, though a lot more darker when you think about the stories within the story and how those are real even without superheroes being involved.

It had also a pretty 'Inglorious bastards' vibe going for all the violence.

And a lot of things are initially portrayed as ehm, classic cliche things but then later it goes deeper in on it, not perse plot-twists but deeper than you initially think.

Why did you drop out of university?

A whole long story but because of my own negligence and 3 Curriculum changes I ended up without any points from all the things I did successfully do (You had for each change a year to officially [and easy] apply for a change to be reflected in your points, I just never did), so While I was thinking I was doing okay I had almost nothing, and starting over when I found out was not a thing I wanted. I basically had my bachelor almost except for a math class and the end-project if I had done the proper change procedures. Also because I was coming down from a 3-4 year intensive weed use period, I was high all day everyday (except for 2 trips to Germany in that period and one time I lost my Bankpass) and just before I discovered I 'had no points' I just had had my personal VALIS experience and following journey ehmm so to say.

Anything going on?

So I just started doing this whole thingy slowly by and by for over 4 years now and somewhere A year ago I began looking for help with getting a job through ehmm I think it would be called 'social services'. But they all thought I was autistic and recommended me to let that get checked out because that's :

  • handy to know

  • something some future employers would like to know anyway (like forensics)

But I was on a waiting list for 4 months and now I doing through the 'whole machine' from schizo-active, the spectrum to lingering psychotic depression and some mania-like type things, they check it all out including interviews with my parents about my early youth and all.

UA

Hmm I checked it out, but it's not in my country and I seem to have the sort of help already. Also I was a bit taken in in my rant by the fact that it's (always) the big earners that are the ones not paying taxes (how bad must a company be to resort to dodging taxes, the local cheesemaker is easily able to cough up his taxes) instead of me complaining about my own situation.

ATM I'm house-sitting(free living etc except the groceries) and I do have part-part-time jobs (like once a month-ish). Somewhere coming September I might have view on a job, as I'm now in the 'diagnostics' so I can better word my explanation of 'the gab in my CV/resume' after I dropped out of university.

But yeah when I work I do it for little, I didn't file for unemployment checks (I do the ehmm how to say, like 90 euros a month from the tax-people so I can and do have a pretty nice healthcare insurance thingie for dentist and hospitals and the diagnostics are all covered by the insurance. I come by and even saved a bit two years ago. It's pretty easy, though you must not be bothered not really having a own place.

Hmm I'm more a 'non-hype'-type, I think this is good as a response, aka my own thoughts on this piece, but... hmm now that I think about it... maybe..

Maybe if there was a /port/ for it, but for now I'm good with it being a response to a article I just read on another >.> site.

Also because it's solely my input, and I'm pretty far removed from the issue.

If for every user comment a separate post should be made it would be chaos ;)

I'm a semi-fluke being here, so let us/you worry about these kinda things when it's all tweaked and running for the intended audience ;)

I just post my 'creative' shizzle here, my facts there (not saying my shizzle isn't riddled with facts).

Writing for writing helps everyone in communication, also I don't mind the critique (though it hasn't been harsh in the least)

Multinationals do seem to like The Netherlands a lot after the various 'papers'... Though the fun part about this is that this deal was struck a 1-2 months before our (I'm dutch) minister said something alike: We are going to see multinationals don't get away with this.

This is also a very all-party issue: Why aren't they paying tax, especially in the case of Uber it's easy to say/claim they make proffit of the infrastructure the state lays (in other countries than The Netherlands ) and (okay this one might be deep) they also proffit of the economic situation of most of their drivers, they have drivers because "it all sucks" to say it simply.

Just pay your tax in the country which you're owned it! Like any laborer does. Because the drivers aren't profiting from this in anyway.

It would be like if this site would sprout the 'best writers' and this site gets a proffit cut while just being this, a site. Sure the site was made etc... but after that it's just getting money for basically nothing (especially in comparison).

I saw an Interview with Yang, he has a weird even to me view on it all that makes sense... I don't wanna be racist but he paints out what the 'optimists' say China is trying to achieve...

I would like to be a hermit in the woods, I survived the last 3 years on only 1500 a year (with some help, roof over my head etc.) But I would be happy to donate back every year I got too much in Yang's plan. (but I'm not American, though again [argh horrible sentence play I guess] we get a lot of the shit America goes through with a delay and slightly transformed)

I'm am worried that even if (probably not though, 'American justice' doesn't exist when $ are in play) this case gets the treatment every human would like it to have, justice be done on all involved, it wouldn't help changing the societal problems that are present for hundreds of years to allow these kind of things to happen and thrive in the first place.

The social dissonance between the rich and poor: As a poor (or just normal person) You are properly screwed if you would (truthfully) claim to be raped. The Justice system and the amount(s) of money, lawyers only working for money etc. (Underground deals between lawyers [lol you get $$$ and let us win okay?]) is what thrives/drives the whole system.

Harmony, living and 'not war' just don't make money, child prostitution does and so does defending the perpetrators in court.

"The Devil's advocate" -kind of case Hillary Clinton did back in 1975 paints the picture of 'winning gone wild' way before the Trump (as trump-card*) entered the A-B divided field. They both knew, both held their mouth shut and all involved are so far removed from anything a 'normal human'/american is.

It's 'action movie'-punisher style cool to 'wipe' the slate clean for these people with [insert cool sounding gun name] for good. Though I would like you to have a seat (me too, so objectively speaking, Hanson is the MC for now):

Why are you killing them? What does this solve? Isn't it like spraying deodorant instead of taking a shower? You're free to go, the weapons are there, but they don't help you prevent it. They only make you feel slightly better in a rage filled rampage which was only possible because it wasn't prevented. Let me tell you this: I heard the prison system in the USA is BAD, now free up some space, let go those chronic dealers, get some rehabilitation/education for those who offended officers of the law etc. now you'll have room enough for all these people and the opportunity for them to live a life in servitude and atone for their crimes, while you focus on your direct local enviroment, get connected and make sure your 'land' isn't part of the trafficking.

But if these children are again (like in 2008) referred to as prostitutes... I can't think of anything else than this as the most bi-partisan issue to start shit over!

Ending with a mantra good for all sides: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVB3upn54AY

*No, I despise both pretty much equally (though the clintons and the prison system are underlit IMHO) also I'm european and never voted in a (basically) 2-party system which seems weird as my village produces over 10 kinds of cheese alone.
