Marcus, Babydoll and Angelica get in line for the X-ray scanner behind a series of courthouse employees returning from a yoga class. They all have posture like paperclips and wait to slide their mats through the X-ray.
Making their way through the X-ray feels pointless, tedious. Like a justice tax.
Marcus acknowledges people he knows all around. Everyone carries files, papers. They all have this worn, beaten down look. Even the lawyers.

Marcus feigns being interested, as a joke. "And?"
"And she's fifteen," says Angelica.
